It is the ninth day of the ten days Allah swore by in His Book: \u201cBy the dawn. And the ten nights\u201d (Surah Al-Fajr 89:1-2).<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 14pt;\">These are the days during which the rites of Hajj are performed at the Sacred House of Allah. What if they had seen Me? Among the best acts the Prophet (peace be upon him) guided us to on this day are:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: left;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><b>Fasting<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Fasting on Arafah expiates the sins of the previous and the coming year, referring to minor sins. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: \u201cFasting on the Day of Arafah, I hope from Allah it will expiate the sins of the previous and upcoming year.\u201d (For non-pilgrims. Its merits include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><b>It is the day when religion was perfected<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Umar ibn al-Khattab reported a Jewish man saying, \u201cIf this verse had been revealed to us Jews, we would have made it a day of celebration.\u201d He referred to: \u201cThis day I have perfected for you your religion, completed My favor upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion.\u201d Umar replied: \u201cWe know the day and place it was revealed to the Prophet\u2014on the Day of Arafah, a Friday.\u201d<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><b>A festival for those standing at Arafah<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Pilgrims earn great rewards through this central Hajj ritual.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><b>Allah swore by this day<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: The Almighty only swears by what is great: \u201cBy the dawn. Every Muslim who affirms Allah\u2019s oneness can benefit. Among the merits for non-pilgrims:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><b>Supplications are answered<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: The Prophet said: \u201cThe best supplication is that of the Day of Arafah.\u201d<\/span><span style=\"font-weight:
