On the Day of Arafah, pilgrims make their way to Mount Arafat, where they stand from noon until sunset, imploring Allah Almighty for His mercy and forgiveness. They chant praises, glorify His name, and do not depart until peace fills their hearts.<\/span><\/p>\n

Among the most virtuous deeds recommended on this day is giving <\/span>Sadaqah<\/b>. Sadaqah on the Day of Arafah is unlike giving on any other day\u2014rewards are multiplied and recorded as provisions for the Day when neither wealth nor children will be of benefit.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Scholars have stated that whoever combines fasting, remembrance of Allah, Sadaqah, and supplication on this day has attained all goodness, by the will of Allah. So why would we not rush to such immense reward\u2014by relieving someone’s hardship, bringing joy to an orphan, or feeding the hungry\u2014while hoping for divine mercy that wipes away sins and transforms misdeeds into good?<\/span><\/p>\n

The Ruling on Sadaqah on the Day of Arafah<\/b><\/h2>\n

As for its ruling, offering Sadaqah on the Day of Arafah is among the highly recommended acts of worship in Islam. Sadaqah has a remarkable effect on the giver in both this life and the Hereafter: it expiates sins, erases mistakes, elevates ranks, and brings great rewards. Furthermore, it shields from calamities and heals illnesses. All these benefits are amplified on the Day of Arafah, when righteous deeds are multiplied more than on any other day<\/span><\/p>\n

The Virtue of Sadaqah on the Day of Arafah<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n

The first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah are the most blessed days of the year\u2014most beloved to Allah, equivalent to the last ten nights of Ramadan. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: <\/span>“There are no days during which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days…”<\/span><\/i> (Reported by al-Tirmidhi).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The greatest of these days is the Day of Arafah, the most honored and virtuous. Acts performed on this day bring multiplied rewards. Sadaqah, being central to Islamic teachings and an ever-present form of worship, gains exceptional merit on this sacred day.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ways to Give Sadaqah on the Day of Arafah<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said in an authentic hadith: <\/span>\u201cNo servant gives Sadaqah equal to a date from lawful earnings\u2014and Allah accepts only what is pure\u2014except that Allah takes it with His right hand and nurtures it for him, just as one of you nurtures his colt, until it becomes like a mountain.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

From this, we understand that giving on the Day of Arafah\u2014and beyond\u2014knows no bounds. It is not confined to a specific amount or time. Whatever is given sincerely from a lawful source brings blessing and can relieve someone’s hunger or thirst, or ease a hardship that has long burdened them. Among all forms of giving, <\/span>Sadaqah Jariyah<\/b> (ongoing Sadaqah) holds a special place, offering continuous benefit until the Day of Judgment.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

As the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: <\/span>\u201cWhen a person dies, all his deeds come to an end except for three: ongoing Sadaqah, beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for him.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

Can Sadaqah on the Day of Arafah Be Sent Abroad?<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n

According to the website of the late scholar Sheikh Ibn Baz (may Allah have mercy on him), there is no prohibition on sending Sadaqah to another country, particularly if the need is greater or the situation more severe there. While local beneficiaries have priority, it is permissible to support others elsewhere if the benefit is substantial.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hence, sending Sadaqah on the Day of Arafah to areas in dire need is not only permissible, but may close critical gaps and relieve pressing hardships.<\/span><\/p>\n

As the Day of Arafah nears, families in northern Syria continue to suffer from the effects of prolonged conflict. Conditions for Accepting Sadaqah on the Day of Arafah<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n

It is important to remember the conditions that ensure your Sadaqah is accepted and beneficial:<\/span><\/p>\n

  • Sincerity in intention<\/b>, done solely for the sake of Allah, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: <\/span>\u201cActions are judged by intentions.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Lawfully earned and pure wealth<\/b>, as Allah is pure and accepts only what is pure.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Joy and anticipation of reward<\/b> in giving Sadaqah.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Preserving the dignity and humanity<\/b> of the recipient.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Discretion and privacy<\/b>, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: <\/span>\u201cSecret Sadaqah extinguishes the wrath of the Lord.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
